Product Features
- Remove harmful chlorine, volitile organic chemicals (VOC's), and other taste and odors from your home's water supply with this easy-to-install kit. Central to this kit is the high-performance Intellifil KDF-55/Carbon cartridge which helps to remove Chlorine and VOC's, and also serves as a bacteriostatic media. The cartidge contains 4 Lbs. of KDF-55 media, and is rated for up to 60,000 gallons of continuous usage.

- The cartidge is made for use with our 20" Big Blue Filter housings, and will support up to 5 GPM flow rates.
- Filter combines 4 lbs. of KDF-55 media, a compound of Copper and Zinc, and Coconut Shell GAC (Granulated Activated Carbon) and works especially well on Chlorine taste and odors, while adding all the reduction-oxidation benefits of the KDF55 compound. The water filter cartridge utilizes KDF filtration media, GAC (granular activated carbon) and 3 stages of polypropylene sediment filtration. KDF Process Media are high-purity, granulated copper and zinc-based alloys that filter water through a process based upon the principle of redox (Oxidation-Reduction). Originally, KDF was shorthand for Kinetic Degradation Fluxion. We can explain redox like this: KDF Fluid Treatments unique combination of copper and zinc creates an electro-chemical reaction. During this reaction, electrons are transferred between molecules, and new compounds are created. The GAC media helps to further reduce chlorine taste and odors.
